21 October 2025

On 16 October 2025, the government announced strengthened mandatory training on antisemitism and other forms of racism across the NHS. It also commissioned a review led by Lord John Mann into the response of healthcare regulators.

Protecting staff and patients

The announcement focused on discrimination, accountability and confidence that concerns would be addressed. Training was one element of that response, alongside scrutiny of the systems responsible for professional standards.

From a module to everyday practice

Completing training does not by itself determine how people experience a workplace. Its practical value depends on whether expectations are understood, concerns can be raised and conduct is addressed consistently. Management and organisational processes therefore remain part of the same task.
